Well, it has been a while since I gave an update on my film projects, so let me bring you all up to speed. As you may (or may not) know, I have been trying to get my first script made into a feature film. I have put the feature project (and the prequel) on the back burner for the next few months, and will be producing, directing and narrating a documentary that is in production now; this documentary is regarding the same subject matter as the feature and it's prequel.
My co producer in this project, is the incredible DJ Hydro (who is also co-producing the soundtracks for our other two projects with myself); as well, the only person in the universe who I will willingly concede has a better working knowledge of music than myself (with the wisdom of Zehuti), Verb, will be a technical consultant on this project. In fact, in 2009 I plan another documentary project, a bit of a broader stroke though.
We are projecting to have this one completed by May of this year; I will keep all of you posted as to the progress of this project. Those of you in Detroit will have a chance to meet me in person, as I and my co producer will be up there in a few months for some of the filming! Also, we will be in NYC around the middle of March to interview a few folks, so if any of my east coast peeps are there around that time, we can do lunch!
This project will be a nice lead in to the feature and its sequel. As Capt. Jean Luc Picard says: "Engage!"
Keep making it happen!!!

Oh you are bringing back memories with the Nightcrawlers! I was the first DJ to play this track on WNUR. I remember taking the plastic off the record and then just dancing around the studio!
I'm so glad you're doing a documentary. We're overdue for one. We have to meet up when I'm home this summer.

Way to go DJBA, as a fellow screenwriter I know how hard it is to get your work out there to the public. I like the fact that you don't sit around and wait for Hollywood you get down to business yourself. Congratulations, and I look forward to seeing all your films.
