    I Believe

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He shall supply my need, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He shall supply my need, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    BRIDGE I:

By faith I believe it, By faith I receive it
By faith I can have it, By faith I can share it
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He worked it out for me, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He worked it out for me, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    Bridge II:

By faith I will know it, By faith I will show it
By faith I will bare it, and now I'll declare
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
I Believe, I Believe just what he said

I think Brother Neil's being a bit oversensitive, and intentionally blind.

I noted Simpson's position as racist, but his position opposing Obama's pep talk to kids to stay in school, nothing having to do with health care.

Simpson often can't think straight on issues, and I think he's confusing these.

There are two possibilities on the school thing: Either one is totally lunatic and misanthropic in opposing Obama's call to minority kids to stay in school, or one fears more minority kids will graduate.

Wouldn't you agree?

It's not "playing the race card" to point out a policy is racist, even if that policy is in opposition to Obama. It's a simple statement of fact observed.

@Ed:

I do not think Neil is a racist in any form, I truly believe he is consistant in his opposition to policies from the Barack Administration, I am certain if Condi Rice was president, he would have very little if any problems with her in office.

I think Neil and some conservatives oppose Barack speaking to school children because of how they see him through his policies, whereas I think there are quite a few conservatives who oppose Barack on any turn because he is a Black man.

Damn DJ.

I call myselg going raw over on my site, but I could not match this. You expressed everything I feel. Damn good post man.

Ed Darrell = fake Christian and pathological liar with a bizarre obsession about me -- http://4simpsons.wordpress.com/2009/05/25/pro-abortion-fallacies-r-us-and-more/

Ed also supports legalized abortion on demand, which kills black people at a rate of 3x that of white people. And he favors increasing abortions via public funding, which will destroy even more blacks.

Seems kinda racist to me.

Hi DJBA,

Thanks for the thorough analysis. I appreciate your balance on the issues and how you don’t reflexively jump to one side or the other.

It would be fun to do a joint article, though my part would probably be pretty brief, something along the lines of “Affirmative action was necessary but has run its course and is now a hindrance. Everybody put down their race cards (hidden and open). The best solution is to talk less about race and just interact more and more (all races, not just black / white). We won’t change the minds of everyone but we can change the most that way.”

Having said all that, it is interesting how few people stayed on the actual topic, including you.

My point was how unproductive it is to play the race card to silence an opponent rather than address their views on their merits (see Ed's comment above for exhibit A). It is simply cheating. He hates me because I've embarrassed him so many times by highlighting his lies, so he tries to same I'm a racist. Pathetic.

I think we’ve lost the ability to focus on an issue. Here’s what I mean:

1. Racism still exists.
2. Racism is bad.

Everyone got that?

Now, here's a different thought! A brand new thought! Unrelated to racism!

3. Barack Obama and Co. have some profoundly bad ideas and here’s why . . .

Now disagree with my points supporting #3 if you like, but when Liberals and the media constantly play the race card it is more than annoying. It is childish, counterproductive, unfair and tips their hands that they don’t have real arguments.

It is sort of like dealing with atheists. I know, via Romans 1 and elsewhere, exactly why they deny God. It is 100% true. But it is more productive to also address their false arguments at face value.

I think Simpson is blinded to what he says. For example, look at his post against Obama's speech, for example. He closes it off with a few quotes from evil people in history (I'll assume for a moment the quotes are attributed accurately, but I won't swear to that), saying that they can use education to perform evil.

Neil forgets many of the other quotes: "With all thy getting, get thee wisdom." "As the twig is bent, so grows the tree." "Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it." "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

So, in a fit of rashness, he claims Stalin's evil purposes, when a more calm, rational person might note the Biblical reasons.

As Paul wrote, we often do those things we wish not to do. Simpson is a walking model of Paul's warning.

Does he intend to be racist? Then let him mouth the words: Children, don't drop out.

To do that, of course, he'd be agreeing with Barack Obama -- and his hatred of the man has so blinded him, he cannot do it.

Since the children to whom that message is most needed and most directed are minority, the effects of Simpson's irrationality are explicitly racist. Misdirected good intentions don't overcome effects so damaging.

Neil's hallucinating his claims about me, too, by the way. He has no compunction against imputing what he thinks to be evil to people he has decided to hate.

Policy based in hatred and not love will only foster more hatred.

Hallucinations? Heh. Click the link, folks -- http://4simpsons.wordpress.com/2009/05/25/pro-abortion-fallacies-r-us-and-more/. All there in Ed's own words.

Ed is a blog stalker, one of the creepy things about the Internet.

And now he's quoting scripture! That's so funny. He tries that now and then until someone demonstrates how ridiculously out of context it is, then he slinks away.

He can't even get the "don't murder" command right, as he is pro-abortion. He's too rebellious to concede the scientific fact that abortion kills an innocent human being.

And of course, the 3x ratio of black abortion rates to whites isn't enough for Ed, so he's supporting Obama's plans to increase it. Hard to reconcile genocide with his "Christian principles."

Just for grins, let's examine Ed's random scripture verses to see how it applies here.

How about, "Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord."

Gee, Obama was going to train these children in the ways of Jesus? I didn't catch that part when he sent the curriculum to the schools. And it seems like he's too busy hosting Ramadan events at the White House to promote Jesus.

"Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it."

Really? Obama was going to offer Christian training to public school kids? I'm sure the Left would love that.

"With all thy getting, get thee wisdom."

Another random verse that has nothing to do with Obama's speech. You could use that verse any place, any time, but Ed thinks the context was the President providing curriculum to public school kids.

Sorry my blog led a troll to your place, DJBA.

Health insurance is really vital in modern day for safety purpose.

@Robin:

I agree, it is essential. It is quite barbaric and inhumane how the system works right now, in my opinion.
