    I Believe

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He shall supply my need, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He shall supply my need, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    BRIDGE I:

By faith I believe it, By faith I receive it
By faith I can have it, By faith I can share it
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He worked it out for me, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He worked it out for me, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    Bridge II:

By faith I will know it, By faith I will show it
By faith I will bare it, and now I'll declare
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
I Believe, I Believe just what he said

That is ridiculous.

I saw that story and it turned my stomach. So many atrocities are committed by man in the name of religion.

This deeply troubles me, not so much as an atheist but as one who values justice and democracy.

It seems to me that modern Islam is at the same place that Christianity was in the Middle Ages, with corruption and totalitarianism being the rule. The question is, who will be their great reformer?

@Will:

You know Will, I can see some parallels, but honestly, the middle ages were as much a socilogical construct as a religious one, as society within and without of the religious traditions progressed things changed, further in the Christian church reform came from within, many Christians SPOKE OUT and acted about some of the injustice within the Christian communities, I don't see any credible level or hear any level of self examination and / or critisim from within the Islamic world.

And worse yet, they have the benefit of the world around them being very progressed, in many places they can see a different life.

Honestly, these types of maniacs can only be dealt with at the working end of an M16A2 servicerifle in the hands of a United States Marine in my opinion....
