    I Believe

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He shall supply my need, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He shall supply my need, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    BRIDGE I:

By faith I believe it, By faith I receive it
By faith I can have it, By faith I can share it
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He worked it out for me, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He worked it out for me, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    Bridge II:

By faith I will know it, By faith I will show it
By faith I will bare it, and now I'll declare
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
I Believe, I Believe just what he said

I think the DC heroes' prescription against killing stems from the fact that they're not law enforcement and most high-profile heroes don't want to take the law into their own hands for fear of the repercussions. Keep in mind that superheroes were illegal in the DCU for around 50 years between the JSA and Superman.

Regarding the scene on Earth-2, I was annoyed by the implication that atheism is for people with a chip on their shoulder. Just once I would like to see someone write a character who is openly an atheist and not suffering from a tragedy of some kind. I mean yeah, I know, a lot of people lose their faith that way in real life, but as a narrative element I find it overused and condescending.

That complaint aside, though, I really enjoyed the comic, especially the revelations with Starman and Black Adam. Some people have been complaining that this arc has been going on too long, but I think it's just getting better with each issue.

Er, proscription, not prescription.

"Take two Miraclo pills and call me in the morning..."

I guess I can see that, you don't want Superman killing the average hood, or even batman for that matter, but allowing Superboy Prime to live? The Joker? Krona? etc., just bad, bad , bad. Super villians sometimes need super heroes to take them out!

And I agree, atheism predicated on loss is passe', but perhaps the reality for Mr. terrific, there could be a character who is an atheist without the "tragic loss" factor. Maybe Reed Richards?
