    I Believe

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He shall supply my need, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He shall supply my need, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    BRIDGE I:

By faith I believe it, By faith I receive it
By faith I can have it, By faith I can share it
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He worked it out for me, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He worked it out for me, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    Bridge II:

By faith I will know it, By faith I will show it
By faith I will bare it, and now I'll declare
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
I Believe, I Believe just what he said

I couldn't agree more. It seems that their fear and dismay that a black woman is ruling one of "their" beloved sports is fueling the attack.

This theme is so familiar - it should be tiresome, even for the media.

If Venus and Serena weren't Black, they'd be media darlings.

They conveniently forget about Monica Seles and her wild grunts. But per usual, everything Blacks do is exxagerated.

Double co-sign on Anonymiss' comment. "...everything Blacks do is exaggerated."

Its ridiculous to single Serena out. She has a strong presence, as she is a confident and apt player (and person). What's wrong with that?

Anonymiss beat me to the punch. Monica Seles was WAY louder that either of the Williams girls.

I also don't like the "mannish" adjectives that they use on them. They are both into fashion and are quite feminine acting!

I think that Serena should continue devastating them all on the court, and then laugh all the way to the bank.

Well-said, DJ. Ms. Williams is female; everything about her is by definition is feminine, whether or not it fits into these commenters' little gender-identity boxes. For my part, I think she should be admired for her strength and tenacity.

If you don't mind, I'll be listing this post in DC Blogs noted for tomorrow. If you don't want to be listed, email me by midnight tonight.

Maria Sharapova is pretty loud too and her shrieks are so annoying. If she has to shriek like that, she better be winning. Love the sisters though. When they start grunting, you know they're about to kick ass.

I remember most the grunts of Monica Seles and Aranxta Sanchez Vicario (sp). No one characterized THEM as animalistic.

Remember how the commentators had a field day talking about her black Spandex tennis outfit a few years ago?

Tennis is still a very White-dominated sport, and Whites just are not used to us, plain and simple.

How could I forget Aranxta. Me and my dad used to say that Seles had some real competition in the screaming dept, LOL!

The Williams Sisters have been taking it for quite some time. I admire them cuz being that I'm my father's child :-), somebody would've heard my mouth in unrefined fashion :-)

Oh Lord I'm not even gonna go there...
