Well, as you all know, I have been a bit preoccupied working to get my film in production before year end, we are raising money and adding members to our LLC, going over casting choices, contacting some of the locations where we will be shooting, etc., etc. So, I haven’t been able to apply my full attention to my future invasion of Liberia (hey, I gotta have money to hire those mercenaries! BUT we are accepting volunteers).
You all may ask: “DJ Black Adam, why Liberia?” my answer is “Why NOT Liberia?” You see folks, Liberia was started by some of our ancestors back in the 1800’s. So in essence, these are our people.
The population is indigenous African 95% (including Kpelle, Bassa, Gio, Kru, Grebo, Mano, Krahn, Gola, Gbandi, Loma, Kissi, Vai, Dei, Bella, Mandingo, and Mende), Americo-Liberians 2.5% (descendants of immigrants from the US who had been slaves), Congo People 2.5% (descendants of immigrants from the Caribbean who had been slaves), so in essence, Liberia is very representative of Pan Africa.
1st on my list to do after we have established internal security, border security and worked on rebuilding infrastructure is to try to mend some old wounds. Seems as though, some of our ancestors got over there and started acting a wee bit uppity with the native Africans, we gotta X that. We will establish a Liberian identity ABOVE all other identity, for unity. We don’t need a remix of the house slave / field slave – Light / Dark, BS we have been dealing with over here.
Now of course there are some problems in Liberia (15 years of civil war can do that to a nation). Water borne illnesses are one of the most common, so a priority on the infrastructure list is getting a safe and efficient water supply / purification system. (Any of you Civil Engineers out there who want to volunteer to help with any of this, feel free to e-mail a brotha!).
They seem to be currently dealing with getting charges together for some former war criminals and criminals who just took advantage of the chaos that war brings, in particular rape cases. A government minister was quoted as saying: “Liberia still has far to go, said Vabah Gayflor, a government minister, pointing to editorials that say women who wear revealing clothes are to blame if they are raped.” Well, that’s gonna just be plain unacceptable during the DJ Black Adam dynasty of the Republic of Liberia (and hopefully all subsequent dynasties).
You have all heard me talk about my “mandatory 4 week indoctrination” for people from the Americas and the Caribbean who wish to come over (you know, getting them out of the whole ghetto / slave mentality if necessary), well that also applies to the existing population of the Republic. We need to broaden the horizons of some of that old caveman mentality, bring folks to a certain level of understanding of the equality of men and women, and that mutual respect is tantamount. Basically let the people know “President DJBA, expects people to treat each other with respect, for men to honor women and protect children and to above all act in a gentlemanly nature…it would “behoove” you to comply”.
Basically, Gunfighter as Secretary of Defense and Homeland Security will have a nice federal police mandate, and crimes against women and children WILL NOT BE TOLERATED (interpret that as you wish ;-) ) Well anyway, I gotta get back to working on the score and soundtrack to my little production, so if any of you all have any other suggestions to assist me in my future expedition, feel free to let me know!
Thanks, DJ Black Adam
