I have seen an interesting thing under the sun. People wanting to blame God or the Devil for everything that is wrong with their lives.
This is not for the religious folks only, atheist do this from time to time also. But I will start at home with those of us who are theist.
Religious folks thank God for all the good that happens in their life (which they should, as God gives us Life to enjoy the good) BUT they always follow up with “It must be God’s will” when something bad happens, or shouting how “The Devil” done did this or that to them.
If we have a biblical worldview, the fact is that it is God’s will that we do well, however, it is also true from that same biblical worldview that life on this imperfect world is not always gravey for believers or non-believers. Seeing as the world became imperfect by the choices of HUMANS, it is clear (Biblically speaking) that our CHOICE as Humans, our free will to choose, is outside of and independent of God’s will. Meaning that, He is not going to make you or I do anything.
God told the Israelites something back during their time in the desert in Deuteronomy 30.19 that quantifies this point quite well, that being:
“I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live…”
Not only has God allowed us to choose different paths, he encourages us to CHOOSE LIFE. So we have to step up and man up to OUR CHOICES.
Don’t get me wrong folks, I am not saying that the Satans are not alive and kicking up all manner of evil on the earth, we have no power over them being here, it is an actuality that we have to accept. But, WE have the power to choose in all things, even if it is just to choose how we will react to something good or bad that happens in our lives.
The Devil can tempt you, but he doesn’t “Make” anyone do anything. Sure, there are spirits that inhabit some people’s souls, but those spirits are there because that person LET them in and has CHOSEN NOT to evict them.
People, we are the CHOOSE LIFE. In our finances, in our relationships, in our day to day, CHOOSE LIFE.
I’m just saying…
