Very well…where do I begin? Well let’s start with the “F” word and Isaiah Washington.
A few months back as most of you already know, Isaiah got into an altercation with one of his “Grey’s Anatomy” costars, and called the guy the “F” word in front of some of their co-workers.
Since I am not a member of the community to which the “F” word is an insult directed to, I will compare it to the “N” word (Since I AM a member of the community to which the "N" word is offensive), and in the same situation, I would have expected he be excused and fired from the show (or whatever job he worked) for throwing it around.
Well, ABC kept him around for a few months and canned him at the end of the season. Obviously, ABC decided he and his attitude were more than they or their sponsors wanted to keep around. Like I said, had the “N” word been used, no one would have blinked about it, so I agree the "F" word should be dealt with in a similar manner.
Now this brotha is playing race as the reason he was fired.
Let’s look at some of this brother’s reasoning, he starts of with:
"My mistake was thinking black people get second chances. I was wrong on all fronts," he said.
Did Imus get a second chance? Did Michael Richards? Heck, Mel Gibson is still recovering from his “alcohol induced” anti-Semitism.
For an in-between a-b list TV actor, you did well to finish out the season. Then he follows up with this:
“His unwillingness to act like a submissive black at work was part of the problem, Washington said. Well, it didn't help me on the set that I was a black man who wasn't a mush-mouth Negro walking around with his head in his hands all the time. I didn't speak like I'd just left the plantation and that can be a problem for people sometime," he said.
You know, if you had broght these problems up BEFORE you got fired for being a bigot they might be valid, seems rather convenient that AFTER you get the boot “All of a sudden” RACISM is the issue. Again, using race as the issue in this garbage, only messes it up for when people really have a race problem in the work place, in other words Isaiah, shut the hell up!
NOW onto Eddie Murphy:
Eddie had to disrespect a sister with that public questioning about the fatherhood of what has been proven to be his child. All I can do is go back to Fat Albert regarding Eddie: “Eddie, you like school in the summer time, NO CLASS!". No wonder he plays a Jackass in "Shreik", seems the role comes naturally to this brother.
