    I Believe

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll do all things through Christ, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He shall supply my need, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He shall supply my need, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    BRIDGE I:

By faith I believe it, By faith I receive it
By faith I can have it, By faith I can share it
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He worked it out for me, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He worked it out for me, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    Bridge II:

By faith I will know it, By faith I will show it
By faith I will bare it, and now I'll declare
I believe just what he said

I have my mansion now, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
I'll have me mansion now, Oh
I Believe, I believe just what he said

    I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
    I Believe, I Believe
I Believe, I believe just what he said

He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
    I Believe, I Believe, I Believe
He loosed the guilty stain, Oh
I Believe, I Believe just what he said

« My RELIGION is REALITY… | Main | The Illustrious Ami Anglewings interviews the brooding and at times unintentionally "offensive" DJ Black Adam!! »

11 June 2007

A sit down with Black Adam…

Yes, I am sure that some of you have wondered: “What the heck is wrong with this DJ Black Adam guy?”, or perhaps “This guy needs help, what makes him tick”?

Well, even if you haven’t, my fellow blogger Liz (http://liz-dwyer.blogspot.com/) was kind enough to ask me five questions, hopefully this will give you some insight in the mind of a megalomaniac.

1) Cubs or White Sox?

My grandfather was a Cub’s fan back when Dave Kingman and Ivan DeJesus played, however, when I lived in the city I was on the South Side, so I am torn.

2) How did you propose to Mrs. Black Adam?

Propose? A fascinating concept. Proposing would indicate that I, DJ Black Adam, would contemplate the possibility of her saying “no” (a foreign concept to one with the Power of SHAZAM). She, being such a great woman; I could not allow that possibility, the risk was much too great to allow such an interloping factor to thwart my wishes. So, in typical DJ Black Adam fashion, I told her we were getting married, she replied “What Time?”

3) If someone asks you to cook, what are you making?

Lobster tails and Steak (Sirloin or Rib Eye)

4) What's your worst high school memory?

The year was 1985, I was a sophomore at East Aurora. I was transitioning from being a Break Dancer to a DJ. Hip Hop was on pause in Chicago, and House Music was in full swing. I tried to get in on the act and threw a party out in Aurora with Mike “Hitman” Wilson (Mike “The Maestro” at this time). Anyway, I knew how to scratch at that time but my mixing skills were less then desirable. I was mixing two copies of Chip-E’s “Like This”, and I was STILL off beat. Well I got talked about pretty bad, heck I pretty much sucked at mixing for the duration of my Sophomore year. Sooooo yet again in typical “I have read to many Dr. Doom comics” fashion, the whole summer vacation I practiced “mixing” records, first copying mixes I heard Kenny “Jammin” Jason, Julian “Jumpin” Perez and Farley “Jackmaster” Funk do, then doing my own, my first on beat mix was “It’s O.K.” into “Funkin with the Drums” to “Night Flight”.

After that, junior year I came back with a vengeance and starting DUSTING dj’s, over time I became one of the best DJ’s in the Chicagoland area.

5) What do you think your greatest strength is?

My wife, she is the best judge of character I know, if I listened to her more often earlier, I’d probably be running things from Monrovia as we speak.

If you wish to do this meme:

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."

2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions. (They probably won't be the same ones you see above!)

3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.

4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.

5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

Aww! I love the proposal, I mean, declaration of intent to marry story. That's so sweet...and then you say she's your greatest strength. Three cheers for true love.

But we are going to have to work on fully converting you to the Cubs. Unfortunately, I don't think this is gonna be the year to do it though.

Great post and answers DJ.

Awwwww...I liked the "proposal" story too.

What the heck..."Interview me" if you please. I get tired of talking about hair all the time (boo)

those were really good...lol. I loved the dj story...lol.

I'll bite...interview me. I was looking for a topic to blog about and I can only imagine what your questions will be.

Tsiporah and Cluziel:

I'll send you both questions when I leave work today.

To Cluziel:

1. How long have you been natural?

2. Do you ever get ignorant people who tell you how long your hair would be "If you had a perm"?

3. Do you have tips for a bald brotha with a receding hair line who might get a hair graft in order to grow locks? (basically, will it work?)

4. Do you lock for any spiritual reason, or is it cultural or just because you wanted to?

5. Who would win in a fight, Batman or Superman, and why?

To Tsiporah:

1. How did you keep such a good grade point average in school with your other responsibilities?

2. If you met President Bush and could say anything to him, what would you say?

3. Michael Jackson (80's version) or Prince to perform at your Mikvah celebration?

4. Forrest Whitaker or Denzel Washington?

5. Who is your hero?

Cool...that was easy. You stumped me on 3 though

@Cluziel:

Thanks for answering. As for 3, I guess I'll find out lol, the worst thing that could happen is I have to go back to the bald "Jordan" look.

Break it down my brother...
I like this blog!

YAY!

Interview me! >:D

That is true...but I'll have my fingers crossed for locks

Ahhh...now I have to think of a bunch of questions for the people that ask me.

This is much better than being tagged.

Great questions DJBA and I thought about them all carefully and posted my answers last night. Enjoy!!

Hello Ami :-)

1. When did you start reading comics AND what made you start (I know, thats a two in one)!

2. Why do you love Zod?

3. Picard or Kirk?

4. If you could date one Super Hero or Super Villian who would it be?

5. If you could be one Super Hero or Villian who would it be?

LOL @ you scratchin' off beat. Poor thing! Glad you overcame that!!

Ooooh! I love this! Interesting; I'm still cracking up over the "proposal" of sorts. Ultimate sign of confidence in the relationship. loves it. I love how you and your wife are pillars for each other :) I love hearing that from a man's pov.
This was cool. Interview me!

"5) What do you think your greatest strength is?

My wife, she is the best judge of character I know, if I listened to her more often earlier, I’d probably be running things from Monrovia as we speak."

LOVED THAT!

Okay...interview me...

Hey DCSavvy:

1. West Coast or East Coast (Biggie or Pac)?

2. Have you ever been to Chicago, and if so, what did you think of our little town?

3. WHO is DC Savvy really? Behind all of the glamour, the mystique, what do you do for fun?

4. Why did you start blogging?

5. If you could talk to God and ask him one question, what would you ask?

Hey Thom:

1. Who is the greatest comic writer of ALL time in your opinion?

2. Who would win in a fight between "Q", the Beyonder and Mr.Mxylplyx? OR would Batman find some way to defeat them all?

3. How are you sooooo knowlegdable about pop culture, are YOU secretly this universe's Monitor?

4. Are you the nice non angst earth two version of a younger, meaner angst filled you who hates your cousin?

5. Do you write any fiction of your own?

I loved this and welcome your interview!

You're coming up with some great questions...isn't this interviewing thing fun? :)

Hey Mizrepresent:

Hey lady, sorry I forgot to post and send these to you!

1 What do you think the nature of humanity is?

2 Malcolm X or Martin Luther King (and why)?

3 If you could ask God one question, what would it be?
